IXF19302 - Multi-Rate/Port/Framer/Mapper/Cross Connect/10Gbps LAN/WAN MAC Cortina optical components are modular building blocks that enable networking equipment manufacturers to create standards-based products with shorter time-to-market and reduced development costs. Developers can use these opto-electronic components to build optical network solutions to meet a variety of high-bandwidth requirements in SONET/SDH, Optical Transport Network and Ethernet networks. The IXF19302 10Gbps Bandwidth Aggregation and Channelizer Device service framer is a highly integrated interface solution for the transport of multi-service traffic. The device supports a single STS-192/STM-64, 4 STS-48/STM-16, 16 STS-12/STM-4, 16 STS-3/STM-1 or combination of these via 4 distinct ports per interface. IXF19302 also provides an aggregation/protection interface for single STS-192/STM-64 or quad STS-48/STM-16. The integrated 10 Gigabit Ethernet Media Access Controller (MAC) allows Wide Area Network (WAN) and Local Area Network (LAN) operations. It supports concatenated and non-concatenated payloads STS-1, STS-Xc (where X = 3, 6, 9, ..., 48) and STS-192c. IXF19302 supports the mapping/de-mapping of Packet Over SONET (POS), General Framing Procedure (GFP), X.85, X.86, Link Access Procedure SDH (LAPS) and Asynchronous Transfer Mode (ATM) data for up to 64 SONET/SDH virtually or contiguously concatenated payloads/containers. The packets and cells that are mapped/demapped to/from these containers are transferred to/from the next packet device using an SPI-4 Phase 2 system interface. IXF19302 performs section/line overhead termination on both interfaces. It also supports higher order VC-4/STS-3 and lower order VC-3/STS-1 path termination on the mapped/demapped SPE/container. IXF19302 system interface implements two independent on-chip FIFO memories for the ingress and egress paths, each of them with 128 KB depth. The IXF19302 implements a cross-connect allowing the non-blocking transfer of nonconcatenated and concatenated payloads between the data and line interfaces. Work and protect framers supports multicast, add/drop or configurable for any port to any port protection.

    In addition to STS-192/STM-64, IXF19302 also supports quad STS-48/STM-16 and 16 x STS-12/STM-4 and STS-3/STM-1 interfaces. IXF19302 has two framers, one for line, and one for protection/aggregation interfaces, each of them with pointer processing. IXF19302 provides 64-channel mappers that support ATM, GFP, X.85, X.86, LAPS, POS and clear channel operations. The integrated non-blocking timeslot interchanger allows multiplexing/demultiplexing as well as line and path protection functions down to STS-1.
